In this role, we are ideally looking to hire someone who is open to relocating to Malta (full relocation package included) alternatively working remotely. 

Job Description:

Our client is currently looking for a Content Team Lead who will be the content expert to provide the right direction and guidance to a team of Content Editors working on a number of Sports and Casino products in multiple markets globally.

The Content Team Leader will lead through constant teamwork with different stakeholders and will work on content requirements, plan work schedules, content creation and uploads. The role is to work on several of our client's flagship products so the content must be delivered up to our excellent standards. As a Content Team Lead you will manage a team of Content Editors and ensure close collaboration with our client's respective teams.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day management of a team of content editors and freelance writers
  • Manage the team’s holidays and sick leave to ensure minimal impact on content production
  • Proactively identify lack of skill-set, resources and tools required for the team to operate effectively and efficiently
  • Assist and deliver training to new and current employees to close any skills gap
  • Oversee quality-checking work to ensure all content produced by the team and external partners is of a high-quality standard and delivers a unique selling point in the cluttered online betting space
  • Assist and ensure that the Content Editors improve the content briefs to have proper SEO and a customer-centric approach
  • Setting clear and measurable targets and KPIs for the team and following up with the team regularly to ensure that targets are being met
  • Working alongside the Head of SEO in conducting performance reviews and creating development plans for direct reports to ensure a high level of performance
  • Assigning content tasks within the team in line with organisational priorities and the products’ content calendar
  • Work with content editors and the SEO team on editorial content pieces
  • Facilitate communication with the content team and other stakeholders to encourage collaboration of ideas, discuss tasks and to highlight any issues or concerns
  • Proactively identify website issues and/or potential improvements and raising these with relevant stakeholders
  • Have ownership of compliance and affiliate links across a number of products
  • Enforce cost control processes
  • Prioritise sales requests to the team via Asana work management tool

As a people manager, your role will also include;

  • Managing team performance effectively through the practising of ongoing performance management, including conducting performance reviews and regular 1-1 meetings  
  • Leading by example by delivering positive results and being a visible ambassador
  • Being approachable and available to the direct team and other stakeholders
  • Communicating effectively and ensures information is delivered in a clear and timely manner
  • Taking ownership of recruitment and selection for your team by working closely with HR Business Partners and the recruitment team
  • Enabling team and individual growth from induction stage to ongoing learning and development


  • Fluent German as a minimum requirement, native level a plus
  • Degree-qualified in Communication, Journalism, or a related discipline
  • Professional experience in writing and publishing as well as experience working in the iGaming industry (Casino and Sports) 
  • Professional experience in leading teams or complex projects
  • A mature approach while being self-motivated, and thrives on working in a collaborative team environment
  • Understanding of UX concepts, SEO copywriting and optimisation techniques
  • Ability to lead by example and inspire others
  • Strong creative skills and the ability to take the initiative
  • Great time-management skills and a keen eye for detail
