Lead Web Designer

Our client, an iGaming affiliate business, is seeking a Lead Web Designer to oversee the design and execution of high-quality, user-centered websites and web applications. This role demands a blend of creative vision, technical proficiency, and effective communication skills with the product team to create visually appealing and highly functional web experiences. The ideal candidate will showcase a strong portfolio in web design, a deep understanding of current design trends, and a commitment to innovation.

Location: Malta, Portugal, Spain - Hybrid / Remote

Responsibilities:

As Lead Web Designer, your broad responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Design Leadership:

• Collaborate closely with our client's product team, offering guidance, feedback, and support to ensure the highest quality of design work.
• Establish and uphold design standards, guidelines, and best practices for consistency and excellence across all web projects.
• Cultivate a creative and collaborative work environment that encourages experimentation and innovation.

Project Management:

• Manage the end-to-end design process for web projects, from initial concept through to final implementation.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and marketing, to align designs with business goals and technical requirements.
• Ensure timely and successful delivery of web design projects by managing project timelines, budgets, and resources.

User Experience & Interface Design:

• Develop user-centered designs based on business requirements, user feedback, and usability metrics.
• Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups to effectively communicate design ideas and solutions.
• Conduct usability testing and refine designs based on user feedback and data-driven insights.

Visual Design:

• Maintain high visual standards across all web designs, ensuring they meet or exceed industry benchmarks and align with the company’s brand identity.
• Stay updated with the latest design trends, tools, and technologies, integrating them into the design process as appropriate.
• Produce visually compelling designs that enhance user experience and drive engagement.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Web Design, Graphic Design, Interaction Design, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional web design experience, including at least 1 year in a leadership role.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in web design, responsive design, user interface design, and user experience principles.
• Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, and other relevant software.
• Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript, with the ability to communicate effectively with developers.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of explaining design concepts and decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Attention to detail and a passion for creating outstanding digital experiences.
