Our client, a leading online sports betting and casino operator focused on the African market, is seeking a results-oriented and data-driven Head of Digital Growth.
This role is a unique blend of performance marketing, customer retention, and product alignment, reporting within the product team. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of strategic and technical expertise in SEO, SEM, digital campaigns, CRM, loyalty, and retention—without traditional advertising channels like TV, radio, or billboards. The focus is entirely digital, with an emphasis on optimising online customer journeys and maximising engagement and lifetime value.

Responsibilities:
As Head of Digital Growth, your broad responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Develop and drive a digital-first growth strategy, centred on acquiring, retaining, and nurturing customer relationships. Utilise digital marketing channels such as paid media, CRM, social media, SEO, and email to create and sustain customer growth.
• Collaborate closely with product and UX teams to ensure marketing efforts align with the product lifecycle. Leverage customer journey insights, user feedback, and usage data to refine and optimise marketing strategies that enhance product engagement and customer loyalty.
• Lead efforts to improve visibility and reach through search engine marketing and paid media channels. Plan, execute, and evaluate complex digital campaigns across ad networks, DSPs, and programmatic channels to maximise exposure and drive high-quality traffic to the website.
• Design and implement CRM and retention strategies that address customer needs throughout their lifecycle.
• Develop loyalty programmes and communication strategies that proactively reduce churn, foster engagement, and enhance customer loyalty.
• Oversee a diverse team covering growth marketing, CRM, content, and design.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and local marketing teams to ensure effective campaign execution and alignment with broader business goals.
• Use insights from Google Analytics, AdWords, and other digital tools to monitor and optimise campaign performance. Apply technical knowledge combined with data analysis to adjust strategies, enhance targeting, and ensure campaigns meet performance objectives.
• Regularly assess and report on growth metrics to senior leadership, including KPIs related to digital channel effectiveness, cost-per-acquisition, customer lifetime value, and conversion rates. Use these insights to refine campaigns and inform decision-making.
• Oversee the digital marketing budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and maximising ROI through cost-effective digital strategies and targeted initiatives.
Requirements:
• Extensive experience in a digital growth marketing role, with a strong track record in SEO, SEM, CRM, and loyalty campaigns; proven success as a Digital Marketing Manager, Performance Marketing Manager, or Head of Digital Marketing, with a focus on data-driven strategies, digital growth, and campaign optimisation, is highly desirable.
• Previous experience in the African market is a significant advantage.
• Deep understanding of digital tools and platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, AdWords,) with the ability to interpret complex data for optimising performance.
• Skilled in prospecting and identifying both immediate and long-term digital growth opportunities, focusing on creative partnerships, digital PR, and social media engagement.
• Proven capability in leading and developing cross-functional teams with an emphasis on digital alignment and collaborative execution.
• Experience in integrating digital marketing with product development and user engagement to ensure seamless customer journeys and cohesive messaging.
• Ability to excel in a dynamic environment where innovation and data-driven decision-making are key.
