Senior Legal Counsel

We are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join a leading iGaming company based in Malta. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and play a key role in shaping the company’s legal strategy across multiple jurisdictions.

As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for managing legal and regulatory matters across the company’s international operations. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across the business, ensuring compliance, overseeing contracts, and mitigating legal risks in a highly regulated industry.

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (2-3 days in the office per week)

Responsibilities:

Senior Legal Counsel, your broad responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Legal & Compliance
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including operator and supplier contracts, affiliate agreements, and regulatory filings.
• Provide legal guidance on licensing and compliance within various regulated markets.
• Liaise with regulators, legal advisors, and industry bodies to stay ahead of regulatory developments.

Contracts & Transactions:
• Review and negotiate employment contracts, supplier agreements, and other business-related legal documents.
• Handle employment law matters, including contracts and dispute resolution.
• Manage trademark and intellectual property portfolios to protect the company’s brand and assets.

Risk & Strategy:
• Develop and implement internal policies to ensure compliance with AML, GDPR, and responsible gambling regulations.
• Support senior leadership with legal risk assessments for business expansion into new markets.
• Lead internal legal training to educate teams on contractual and compliance obligations.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of legal experience, with a strong background in iGaming, corporate, or commercial law.
• Experience handling regulatory compliance and multi-jurisdictional legal frameworks.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills, particularly within the iGaming or online gaming sector.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and strategically advise executive teams.
• Fluency in English is required. Portuguese and Spanish are a plus.
